To all readers:

In the first section of chapter 5 of my article, I state that "Gantret/Gautret v Egerton is no longer good law" (text with footnote 235). This is incorrect. In fact, the decision was approved by the House of Lords in McGeown v Northern Ireland Housing Executive, <1994> 3 All ER 53; see also Gulliksen v Pembrokeshire CC <2002> EWCA Civ 968.
